The Erwin L. Hahn Institute for MRI (ELH) is launching the interdisciplinary art competition ARTifact - Imaging MRI, and calls on scientists, artists and all creative people to show us what they can do!

Not only do we believe that science and art go hand in hand, we also believe that most people have a creative streak. With ARTifact - Imaging MRI, the ELH wants to bring these two worlds - science and art - together. All members of the University of Duisburg-Essen, the Radboud University Nijmegen, the Ruhr University Bochum and the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg as well as members of joint research projects (e.g. collaborative research units or CRCs ) in which the ELH is involved can take part.

We are looking for creative, visual contributions (photographs, collages, digital and traditional images) that are related to or inspired by the current research work at the Erwin L. Hahn Institute for MRI.

The competition is endowed with a prize of 3x200 Euros for the three best entries. Additionally, 2x2 tickets to the RuhrMuseum will be raffled off among all participants.

The deadline for entries is 30 November 2023. From 1 to 14 December, a public online vote will take place here on the ELH website to determine the winning entries. The winners will then be announced on 15 December 2023.

The winning entries will be exhibited both on site at the Erwin L. Hahn Institute for MRI and online on our website and X (formerly Twitter). They will also be shown at the Erwin L. Hahn Lecture & Workshop 2024.

Further information on the conditions of participation and important formalities are available here [Link].

We look forward to many creative contributions!
